Want to be faster and stronger by Spring?

October 7th, 2009  |  Published in News

Winter is coming, which means an inevitable reduction in miles, and expansion of waistlines yes? Not true!  Join us for our Winter Training series, with USA Cycling Coach Eric Peterson, for a series of indoor training sessions that will have you riding stronger and faster by spring!

Basic Trainers: Cycling training by Eric Peterson

Beginning on Wednesday, November 4, 2009; USA Cycling Elite Level Cycling Coach Eric Peterson will again offer structured Stationary Trainer workouts to develop the off season skills necessary for improved riding next Spring! The workouts will be well defined and planned to get the most out of the time spent on the trainer. The feedback from last years program was terrific and we have upgraded and expanded the program.

We will offer evening sessions at 7:15 PM on Wednesdays at Ultimate Bicycle in Matthews.  Workouts will be progressive, targeting leg speed, muscular endurance, and performance training. Rider evaluations will be given before we start the program so we can see the improvement gained through structured training. If you are new to trainer work or are bored by indoor training, this is the way to begin improving your fitness in a limited time format, regardless of the weather outside!

THIS IS NOT A SPIN CLASS.

These are vigorous, muscular, road specific workouts that will progressively work all of your systems.  They are self regulated to some extent, but you will be challenged in order to reap the benefits of the program!

Eric views cycling as a dynamic lifelong sport and teaches with a comprehensive approach:

Physical, Mental Technical, and Tactical.

November will focus on Form and leg speed.

December will add a focus on muscular endurance (lactate tolerance)

January will add a focus on performance training (VOmax)

February will work on getting you ready for the road!

Cost: $250.00 for 15 sessions

$175.00 for Juniors (18 and under)
